Who are we?
In the Power Of Fears community, we have three sweet, loveable and incredibly talented band members.
-Our drummer, who may seem aggressive on drum - but is actually exceptionally kind, is Willow.
-Our electric guitarist, who is at most gorgeous, is Alexa.
-And our lead singer, who is surprisingly creative, is Erica.
How did the Power Of Fears begin?
On the 20th of July, In Chepstow, United Kingdom, Willow, Alexa and three others who remain anonymous performed the song “Forget You” by CeeLo Green in a school festival they called ‘Chepfest’ - some others might know it as ‘Chepstock’- The Group of five performed well, Alexa was on guitar, Willow was on drums, two were lead singers and one other was on piano. Erica was not part of the group performance due to absence when planning, sadly.
When the group got off stage, bombarded with well done’s and cheers, Willow said “I loved that! I loved performing” and with Alexa’s agreement and Erica’s skill and enjoyment of stage performances also, they decided to form a band named “The Power Of Fears”
How did we get our name?
Before the named “The Power Of Fears,” we went through a process of choosing between loads of different band names. At first, we chose “WeCanSong,” weirdly.
“WeCanSong” came from a quote said by Alexa when discussing band names. Erica quotes, “We were just talking, and Alexa said something along the lines of ‘we can song!’ and we all just got the idea that was going to be our band name”
Eventually, we gave up on that name. We knew it was bad - just not really in the moment would you realise it. After doing a little thinking, we decided on “The Meal Deal” which was an inside joke between the three of us - then we realised nobody would understand why we’d be calling each other “The drink” and “The snack”
So the party went over to Willows house to get started on the band, and also to choose a band name, which is when we figured we should write a list of names and use the process of elimination. We thought of names such as, “The Flaming Dreams”, “The Feathered Flames” and the “Fearless Flames” - we thought we had it at that point. We stuck to “Fearless Flames” for about a week (longest we’ve gone with a name) and then dissed it after Willow got The rest of the group a little present.
“The Power Of Fears” name came about when Willow had given Erica a bracelet saying “Powerful” -and the whole party was given a bracelet each saying “Fearless” - which gave her the idea to name their band “The Power Of Fears.”
